31 Days to Decorate Confidently. Day 6: Develop a Plan

It’s easy to run out and start picking up things for your new project, but before you do, you need to come up with a plan of action and that starts by evaluating your space… it’s time to draw up a floor plan!

A floor plan allows you to examine the possibilities of the space and plan what your room will eventually look like. It’s something that is relatively easy to do and once completed you can have a lot of fun with it.

The most popular thing to do with a floor plan is play with the furniture arrangement, but it’s also important for planning traffic patterns, activities, lighting and more

Take time to measure your room and draw up a floor plan and you’ll be glad you did!

Assignment: Take measurements of the room you will be decorating and draw a simple floor plan. You will be using this later! You can find and print free directions by clicking here here. Of course you’re going to need grid paper, so click here to print that out for free too! It’s all free courtesy of dishondesign.com 🙂
